The Hendrick Smithfield, Ireland’s only street art hotel, is proud to offer a free event space in Dublin city centre for local and emerging artists. Our ground-floor lobby and outdoor terrace are available at no venue hire cost, providing creatives with a unique platform to showcase their work in the heart of Smithfield.

A Creative Event Venue in Smithfield, Dublin 7

Located in one of Dublin’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, The Hendrick Smithfield has been part of the Smithfield and Stoneybatter community since opening in 2019. The hotel features over 270 unique pieces of street art, displayed throughout the lobby, corridors, and every guest bedroom making it one of the most visually striking event venues in Dublin.

After the challenges of recent years, we are delighted to fully launch our free venue hire initiative, designed to support Dublin’s creative community.

Supporting Local Artists with Free Venue Hire

In January 2021, we invited artists via our Facebook and Instagram channels to host their events in our Dublin city centre venue. The goal was simple:
to give artists the freedom to experiment, connect, and present their work to a wider audience without the barrier of venue costs.

Since then, we’ve hosted diverse events, including:

Art exhibitions
Comic book launches
Live music gigs and concerts

Each event has brought something unique, proving how versatile and inspiring the space can be.

Past events in our Dublin city centre venue

Previous events include the movie screening of RTE Documentary “The Irish for Sex” starring Bláithín de Burca, Poets for the Planet – a variety show of local spoken word artists and musicians surrounding an ecological theme, Black Tones – a poetry night for the black and brown community in Dublin city, Movhers – a networking event night for women in tech, and JP Lynch Gig- a local folk musician.

The initiative has been a roaring success but it’s not over yet! We’re calling for any and all artists in Dublin city centre who have a great idea and need a great space to reach out to us! We’re looking for poets, musicians, writers, actors, and everyone in between who has a passion for the arts and wants to get their work in front of an audience. We’re ready to create a special occasion for your event in the perfect location in Smithfield.
