Dublin comes alive with colour and celebration every June for Dublin Pride, Ireland’s largest LGBTQ+ festival. The celebration of Dublin’s LGBTQ community runs throughout the entire month. Dublin Pride Parade
The Dublin Pride Parade is a vibrant spectacle of music, dance, and community spirit. This year’s parade takes place on Saturday, June 29th, and The Hendrick is just a short walk or taxi ride from the route. 2024 is Dublin LGBTQ Pride’s 50th anniversary of holding the iconic parade through the city centre, which was originally started to celebrate gay pride. Starting at O’Connell Street, the parade routes through the quays before making it to Merrion Square. The landmark event of the calendar is an all day affair with celebrations kicking off at 1pm in Dublin City Centre.
Dublin Pride Village
Dublin Pride Village is the center of Dublin Pride festivities. This year, Pride Village will be held in Merrion Square on June 29th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Expect a variety of entertainment options, food vendors, and community booths.
The Pride party is a special event and allows the LGBTQ+ Community come together in a safe space. The main stage will have a tonne of top acts, and headline performances. However, the village is an alcohol free zone, but there are plenty of bars nearby to try out.
Other Dublin Pride Events
Dublin Pride is more than just a parade and a village! Throughout the month of June, there are a variety of show stopping events celebrating Dublin’s LGBTQ+ community. Here are a few highlights:
- SHINE: A glittering evening of celebration and reflection marking 50 years since Ireland’s first Pride march. This event kicks off the Dublin Pride 2024 festival and is hosted by the RTE Concert Orchestra in collaboration with Dublin Pride.
- LGBTQ+ Irish and Céilí Dancing, practice your moves before the big day!
- Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus: Pride In The Name Of Love, a concert celebrating love, solidarity, and community.
- Putt In Pride, a social golf event for the LGBTQIA+ community. This event is open to beginners, seasoned professionals, and everyone in between. There will be music, refreshments, and golf instruction provided by PGA Professionals.
- Dyke Night, an evening of entertainment and dancing with a variety show featuring some of the best queer talent Ireland has to offer.
- Bál Aiteach: The Ball is a glitz and glam event for the Irish speaking community. With a BBQ, Irish language games, and the ball itself all packed into one night. The Irish Ball is a celebration of the culture and Gaeilge. It creates a constructive and supportive atmosphere in a safe space. Allowing people to express themselves in a creative way.

Mother Pride Block Party at Collins Barracks
No Dublin Pride celebration would be complete without Mother, Dublin’s biggest LGBTQ+ party. This year, Mother will be held on Saturday, June 29th from 4 pm to 11 pm at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks. The event is for ages 18 and up and is wheelchair accessible.
The Mother Pride Block Party will see Blu Hydrangea. Sasha Velour, Robin S, Princess Superstar and Cobrah create the ultimate atmosphere at this major event in the calendar. There will be food stalls on site for a nice bite to eat.
