Neighbourhood

It’s all about the arts in Smithfield. Whether it’s an indie film you fancy or some quirky handmade crafts, you won’t be looking far. With the best of Dublin right on our doorstep, we don’t plan on seeing you much.

On Your Doorstep

Transport links, street art, ‘grammable grub’. It’s all right here. Not to mention the odd distillery and/or brewery. If you’re that way inclined.

The Smithfield and Stonybatter Food Festival will take place on the days leading up to the 8th of September where cafes, restaurants and bars in the area will offer free tastings and discounts creating a festival feeling for everyone to enjoy. It’s a chance for Smithfield to celebrate its history and love of food and drink. The food festival will run in association with the Busker Fleadh and both will run simultaneously on the 8th of September with the perfect blend of music and food on Smithfield Square.

Busker Fleadh – 8th of September 2019Smithfield Dancing

Definitely one not to miss if you happen to be staying at The Hendrick Smithfield on the 8th of September. While you’ll benefit from the delicious food courtesy of the Smithfield and Stonybatter Festival, the Busker Fleadh will provide the entertainment. Many talented buskers and street performers will take to Smithfield Square to celebrate culture and music in one. No matter your music taste, your age or your cultural background, the Busker Fleadh won’t disappoint!

BlueFire Festival – 21st of September 2019

BlueFire is a social enterprise whose aim is to empower young people aged between 13 and 30 to encourage cultural collaboration and acceptance. The festival has become the headline event of the organisation and has become hugely successful in the last number of years. Once again Smithfield Square becomes its stage and offers a space where diverse cultures can meet and express themselves through performance, art and music. It’s a brilliant way of touching base with Dublin and the many different cultures that found a home here.
