Business

We know so many people come to Dublin for reasons other than leisure and we want to make a business trip as easy as it needs to be. As the Convention Centre is a Luas ride from Smithfield we make sure to be aware of its upcoming events. Check out what’s on!

Events and Conferences in Dublin

Since opening on Spencer Dock in 2010, the CCD has won over 60 awards for the outstanding events that it has held over the years. The CCD is the perfect location for conferences, exhibitions and events. It has even famously hosted the Irish parliament sessions.

Dublin is home to many event spaces throughout the city. Hosting hundreds of thousands of attendees each year, the city is well equipped for your business break here.

Meet in the centre of Dublin

Dublin’s premiere event venue is located in the heart of the city, right on the River Liffey. Spencer Dock is the home to this 2,000 seat auditorium, right next to the 3Arena. This inspirational setting is within walking distance to loads of spaces for them after conference pints.

We know that the “networking” hour after each event is the most important. That is why having such a central location is a huge benefit to the Convention Centre Dublin. Over 20,000 bedrooms are within easy reach from Spencer Dock, although the Hendrick is the only option for corporate stays in Dublin.

The convention centre Dublin at a glance

The building itself is quite iconic, and easily spotted as a landmark along the liffey. From the outside, this conference facility appears round in shape, with hundreds of curved glass windows. Each floor illuminates the Dublin skyline with glowing lighting.

On the inside, you will be greeted with an impressively spacious foyer. As you climb the criss cross elevators, a panoramic view of Dublin city unfolds the higher you go. If you happen to visit the convention centre Dublin at night time, prepare for amazing views.

Award winning hospitality in the city centre

The CCD hospitality doesn’t stop at the friendly team who welcome you into the foyer spaces. The banqueting facilities are served by a top class culinary team.

Gala banquets receive a world class “Nature Gives Us Everything” styled menu. This involves many well known shared ethos’ like ‘head to tail’, ‘root to shoot’ & ‘fin to gill’ that impacts on a restaurants waste. Chefs focus on food provenance, using only seasonal fruits and vegetables from within 100 miles of the CCD.

The host of world-class events

A truly amazing conference centre can host multiple styles of events. The CCD is no different. This leafing meetings & conference centre has a 2,000 seat auditorium, 4,500 square metre exhibition space, 22 meeting rooms and and a capacity of 8,000 people for the entire venue.

It must be said, it was the first carbon neutral convention centre in the world. Utilizing renewable energy, banning single use plastics, and an advanced air conditioning unit to reduce energy consumption. The CCD can provide certified sustainable event delivery with a touch of class.

Along with their commitment to environmental sustainability, the CCD strives to be a fully accessible venue. Assistance dogs are welcomed in all parts of the venue, with a water bowl available. Those with hearing loss can use additional hearing aids, with aids available to borrow to ensure connectivity.

Every area in the building is wheelchair accessible, and there are parking spaces available to those who need it. Additionally, there are changing areas suitable for children and adults with a hoist in situ also. Where signage is present, a large print and Braille version is in the area too.
